Raj Kapur, Principal, has over 25 years’ experience with Global Corporate Development and P&L management; deeply rooted in Technology, Financial Services and Aerospace industries. His past experiences comprise of C-Suite and Senior positions with Intel Capital Corporation, Citigroup, American Express and Honeywell Aerospace.

Mr. Kapur has created substantial Enterprise Value across various functions such as Investment Banking, strategy formulation & execution, sales & marketing, management, operations and technology, including the reengineering of operational systems.

As Chief of Staff, Enterprise Product Group – Intel Corporation, Mr. Kapur collaborated with senior leadership across a $4 billion, 4000 person organization, to launch a brand new division. Raj joined Intel to spearhead their thrust in the $300 billion Global Financial Services sector.

Most recently, Raj served as the Director of Corporate Development at Intel where he led multi-million dollar Acquisitions, Divestitures, Intellectual Property Licensing, and Strategic Alliances totaling acumulative transaction value of $2 billion on a global basis.

Other notable accomplishments include:

Raj’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and an MBA from the University of Houston, as well as the proud recipient of the Fred J. Heyne fellowship for excellence and the co-author of the award winning thesis on Wind Energy.

Raj is the proud father of 3 daughters and has a variety of interests. Having played in college and on the Challenger Circuit he continues to pursue his passion for tennis. An avid traveler, he enjoys multiple cuisines and his passion for Art, Movies and the Theatre.

Steve Szirmai, Principal, has over 25 years experience in Corporate Finance and Operations, in both the international and domestic markets.

Mr. Szirmai previously served the banking, leasing, and asset management industries as CFO, Treasurer and Division Financial Controller for corporations such as Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase), HSBC, WestLB, and Microsoft.

Serving as CFO and Director of Operations of an Asset Management firm with $10 Billion under management, Mr. Szirmai opened 2 banks in international markets, while integrating the operations of a private equity and an international equity firm.

Mr. Szirmai added significant enterprise value to Microsoft’s Leasing and Finance division as Director of Worldwide Operations for Microsoft Finance.

  •   •  Increased revenue from $400 million to $1.3 Billion USD in both domestic and international markets
  •   •  Expanded Microsoft Finance Infrastructure from the U.S. and Canada only, to 10 additional countries

Having received his MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, Mr. Szirmai is multi-lingual; speaking fluent German, Hungarian, Spanish, and English. Steve has both worked and lived in international markets such as Hong Kong, Dusseldorf, Prague, Warsaw, Madrid and Moscow as well as in New York, Houston and Seattle.

Steve brings his international and domestic expertise to the Financial Services, Corporate Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Intellectual Properties, and Technology industries, serving as Interim CFO, Interim COO, Board Advisor, Strategic Advisor, and CEO coach.

He currently resides in Kirkland WA and is the proud father of 3, an active member of Rotary International, and is passionate about International travel. Steve brings a unique and refreshing approach to the clients he serves through real world experience, a deep understanding of regulations, and creative problem solving.

Dustin Walling, Principal, has nearly 20 years of experience delivering growth for technology-driven organizations. Combining a balanced blend of actionable strategy, leadership development, and operational results, Mr. Walling has developed a reputation for rapid accomplishments, with difficult objectives, in order to build true enterprise value.

As an example, for Reel.com, Dustin lead selection,implementation, and commissioned the development of all back office systems and helped manage third party relationships. This contributed to the explosive growth that saw the company acquired by Hollywood Video for $100mm.

Prior to joining Merit Harbor Group, Mr. Walling successfully ran his own firm providing strategy development and operational implementation with clients such as:

    Passionate about the role of education in the advancement of business, Mr. Walling has served as Adjunct Professor for the University of Washington and Seattle University, teaching Business Management, Marketing, and Psychology.

    Dustin and wife Sushma, live in Kirkland, WA. He is active in Rotary International, helping to spearhead the annual fundraising and giving campaigns. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, bicycling, and traveling with Sushma to her native India.

    Sean Ostrander, Business Unit Manager, is a recent graduate of The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, CA. He earned a BA in Business Administration with a Public Relations emphasis, as well as a minor in Theology. Sean joined the Nordstrom organization in 2010 and worked through 2013, where he discovered the truly unique value proposition that is passionate customer service. He worked at two stores in Seattle and one in Los Angeles, getting a holistic view of the retail world and providing intangible value to customers.

    Sean joins Merit Harbor with a focus on business development and connecting clients with principals and investment bankers based on client need and desired outcomes. Sean will also manage the critical CPA and software programs Merit Harbor offers to these two markets, or with our investment bankers if they are looking toward an M&A event. This enables the consultants and investment bankers to focus on their current clients while providing new lead flow for the firm.

    Hobbies include skimboarding, playing basketball, traveling, finding new restaurants, and spending time with his family and his girlfriend, Amy.
